Rooney may have to leave United to extend career said by Neville

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney may have to leave the club to extend his career “at the highest level”, former United defender Phil Neville has said. Rooney has made 42 appearances in all competitions this season, most of them as a substitute, with manager Jose Mourinho relying on top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic before a knee injury ended the Swede’s campaign. Neville does not expect Rooney to start in the Europa League final against Ajax Amsterdam on Wednesday, with local media linking his former club Everton to re-sign United’s all-time top scorer in the upcoming transfer window.

“You hope (Rooney doesn’t leave) but the way the season’s gone, particularly since Christmas, he’s not been involved as much as he’d probably have liked,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“He wants to play in the biggest games and when it comes to Wednesday night I’d be surprised to see him in that starting eleven.

“If he wants to continue playing at the highest level – week in, week out – and be the first name on the team sheet, then he’ll probably have to go and play his football elsewhere.”

United, who finished sixth in the Premier League this season, have an opportunity to claim qualification for next season’s Champions League if they win Europe’s second-tier competition in Stockholm. Neville believes the clash with the Dutch side will define Mourinho’s campaign at Old Trafford. The Portuguese already won the League Cup in February to become the only United manager to claim silverware in his first season.

“The whole season has been based on trying to qualify for the Champions League and, ultimately, they wanted to finish as the Premier League winners, but now they’ve got the chance to win the Europa League,” Neville said.

“The pressure is on United…so it will be interesting to see how the players cope with the pressure of being the team that’s expected to win.”

Nicky Hayden: Ex-MotoGP champion dies after collision

Former MotoGP champion Nicky Hayden has died aged 35, five days after being involved in a crash while cycling. The American suffered “serious cerebral damage” after colliding with a car on the Rimini coastline in Italy on Wednesday, 17 May. The 2006 MotoGP championship winner had been in the intensive care unit of Cesena’s Maurizio Bufalini Hospital.

“We would like everyone to remember Nicky at his happiest – riding a motorcycle,” his brother Tommy said.

A hospital statement issued on Thursday said Hayden had suffered “a serious poly trauma”, which is a medical term to describe the condition of a person who has multiple traumatic injuries. Hayden, who was nicknamed the Kentucky Kid, had competed for Red Bull Honda in the World Super bike Championship in Italy on 14 May.

Umar Akmal dropped from Pakistan squad after failing fitness tests

Pakistan batsman Umar Akmal has been asked to return home from England after he twice failed fitness tests, days ahead of the upcoming Champions Trophy. The Pakistan team is undergoing a conditioning camp in Birmingham. Chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq confirmed to the media in Lahore on Monday that Umar was being sent back.

“He has fitness issues. He twice failed fitness tests in the conditioning camp in England. The selectors are now considering Haris Sohail and Umar Amin and one of them will replace Umar in the Champions Trophy squad,” Inzamam said.

Umar was also dropped for the tour to the West Indies in March after failing fitness tests in Lahore. The selectors then picked him as captain of the Punjab team in the Pakistan Cup one-day tournament last month, saying he had cleared fitness tests.

“He was declared fit for the Champions Trophy by the concerned people but when he reached Birmingham and fitness tests were taken he didn’t clear them,” Inzamam said.

Umar, who turns 27 this month, has played 16 Tests, 116 ODIs and 82 T20 internationals but has still not cemented his place in either format. The younger brother of Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal, Umar has been involved in a series of off-field controversies. In Birmingham, according to reliable sources, Umar got into an argument with the team management during the fitness tests, after which head coach Mickey Arthur informed the Pakistan Cricket Board and chief selector that he didn’t want Umar in the side. Inzamam stressed that Umar had also been unfit during the limited over matches in Australia last winter and the team management had warned him to pay attention to his fitness.
“Even before the tour to the West Indies he didn’t clear the fitness tests. He really needs to work in this area if he wants to get back into the Pakistan team.”

David Moyes resigns after Sunderland relegation

David Moyes has resigned as Sunderland manager following their relegation from the Premier League, the club announced on Monday.
The 54-year-old Scot was appointed last July and oversaw a desperate season that saw Sunderland finish 16 points adrift of safety at the foot of the table.

“I would like to thank (chairman) Ellis Short and the board for giving me the opportunity to manage Sunderland and the fans for always being so passionately supportive of their club,” Moyes said in a statement.

“I wish the players and my successor well in their efforts towards promotion back to the Premier League.”

Sunderland’s relegation after 10 years in the top flight was confirmed following a 1-0 home defeat by Bournemouth last month.

Khalid Latif boycotts spot-fixing hearing

Former Pakistan opener Khalid Latif on Saturday boycotted the proceedings of a spot fixing hearing after a tribunal refused to give him a copy of his recorded interview. The 31-year-old batsman stands accused of attempting to spot-fix, accepting an offer by a bookmaker which he did not report, and luring other players into the conspiracy. His case is currently being heard by a three-member tribunal convened to adjudicate on the scandal which emerged during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the United Arab Emirates in February and March. Latif´s lawyer Badre Alam said he had rejected the tribunal because it refused to give his client a copy of his interview, recorded by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) anti-corruption tribunal in February.

“We have asked for the recording of Khalid´s interview which is our right but the tribunal has rejected it,” Alam told reporters. “Until that (interview is given) we will not continue the proceedings, we told them we are not running away but we are talking in legal terms.”

PCB lawyer Taffazul Rizvi said tribunal could proceed even without Latif´s presence. “If a player or participant is not appearing before tribunal, from the start or from the middle, then the tribunal has complete right to listen the remaining case as per the law and give the decision,” said Rizvi.

The PCB said the video interview was conducted by its anti-corruption unit on February 19 and contains a confessional statement from Latif.

The main charges for Latif are luring other players to participate in the fixing and not reporting the offers.

Fast bowler Mohammad Irfan was banned for six months and spinner Mohammad Nawaz for one month and both were fined after they confessed to failing to report meetings with bookmakers.

Latif and three other players — Sharjeel Khan, Shahzaib Hasan and Nasir Jamshed — are also provisionally suspended on various charges and face bans ranging from five years to life if found guilty.

Scotland enjoy landmark win over Srilanka

Kyle Coetzer and Matthew Cross both scored hundreds as Scotland beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets at Beckenham, southeast England, for a historic success on Sunday. The victory was Scotland´s first over a full member of the International Cricket Council — one of the sport´s leading 10 Test nations — in any format.

Sunday´s fixture was not a full one-day international but nothing could take the shine off Scotland´s day in a fixture that forms part of Sri Lanka´s preparations for next month´s Champions Trophy ODI tournament in England and Wales. The last time the teams met, Sri Lanka thrashed Scotland by 148 runs in Hobart during the 2015 World Cup. But this time Scotland held Sri Lanka to 287 in their 50 overs and then saw Coetzer (118) and Cross (106 not out) lay the platform for a successful chase with a superb opening partnership of 201.

Sri Lanka chose to bat and looked on course for a decent total as opener Kusal Perera made a near run-a-ball 57 while Dinesh Chandimal top-scored with 79 and Chamara Kapugedera added 71 including four sixes. But Scotland´s Alasdair Evans and Stuart Whittingham checked Sri Lanka´s progress with three wickets apiece. Scotland then enjoyed an ideal start to their run chase as Coetzer and Cross set about the Sri Lanka attack. Coetzer was eventually out when caught by Sri Lanka captain Angelo Matthews off Thisara Perera for 118, which came off 84 balls and included 15 boundaries as well as four sixes. Sri Lanka then collected a couple of cheap wickets, but Cross made sure there was no significant collapse with an unbeaten 123-ball innings.

Sri Lanka and Scotland meet again on Tuesday.

Ice hockey: Sweden win world title after penalty shoot-out

Sweden won the ice hockey world championships for the 10th time with a 2-1 victory over 2016 champions Canada after Sunday´s final was settled by a penalty shoot-out.

Nicklas Backstorm hit the winning penalty after it finished 1-1 over the three periods as Ryan O´Reilly equalised for Canada after Victor Hedman had put Sweden ahead. In the shoot-out, both Backstrom and Oliver Ekman-Larsson nailed their penalties for Sweden to the delight of their travelling fans in Cologne. Canada´s quartet of Nate Mackinnon, Brayden Point, O´Reilly and Mitch Marner all failed with their penalty attempts to hand Sweden their first world title since 2013.

Excellent defence from both teams added to the tension in a nervy final. After Canada´s Mark Scheifele clipped the post in the first period, Jeff Skinner smacked his shot off the goal´s frame in the second as Sweden survived two let offs.

Despite having Backstrom in the penalty box for slashing, Sweden took the lead, against the run of play, 21 seconds before the end of the second period. Hedman´s speculative long-range shot passed two team-mates and hit the back of the net with the puck passing through the legs of Canada´s goaltender Calvin Pickard. The defending champions levelled with a powerplay goal one minute, 58 seconds into the third period when Ryan O´Reilly flicked home Mitch Marner´s long-range shot.

There was no score in over-time and it was Sweden who held their nerve in the penalty shoot-out. Earlier, Russia survived a late fightback by Finland as Nikita Kucherov sealed their 5-3 win to claim bronze.

Having lost 4-2 to Canada in the semi-finals, Russia raced into a 4-0 lead in the bronze-medal match with Nikita Gusev (twice), Vladimir Tkachyov and Bogdan Kiselevich all scoring. But Finland rallied with three unanswered goals through Mikko Rantanen, Mikko Lehtonen and Veli-Matti Savinainen to pull it back to 4-3 early in the third quarter. Kucherov settled Russian nerves though with the team´s fifth goal to secure third place.

IPL 2017 final: Mumbai Indians clinched stunning win over Rising Pune Super giant with only 1 run.

MUMBAI INDIANS clinched a dramatic one-run victory against Rising Pune Super giant to win the Indian Premier League. Pune ended second-bottom of the tournament last year and had a mixed start this season under the captaincy of Steve Smith, who was working with legendary wicket-keeper MS Dhoni in his ranks.

why students feel more comfortable on social media rather then face to face communication in class:

students feel more comfortable on social media because they feel that their words can be hear to more then one person and  if one person disagree with them their is possibility that another person agree with their logic. so in face to face if someone rejects you then its difficult for you to ask same thing to another person because of rejection or minority fear. social media also build bad habit of isolation from all gathering happening around us and people now days prefer to spend time more on social media rather then group gathering which cause lack of speaking skills and confidence. the fear of isolation and rejection is always present in face to face communication while on social media you have varieties of different people so this fear is not such influence in social media. people also feel discomfort in face to face by watching another person facial
expression because facial expression of anger and rejection cause another person to change his or her idea or may be he began to care more about another person mood as compare to its own topic. so in social media you are not directly viewing another person
face so you feel more comfortable to share anything on their. another reason is lack of verbal skills, people mostly forget words during talk which result embarrassment in front of others, this happen when you are not use to talk to muck publicly and prefer social media to convey your message by writing things their. so this factor is also cause issue for students to convey their talk in class as compare to social media.

The solution for this problem which i feel is to have more group conversation and less usage of social media. first step you have to do is to re engage with all your friends whom you are not meeting from a long time. it will help you to boost your confidence back and step by step you will become more social in real world as compare to virtual world.
